The Limits of Delectable Food

I know the about-to-follow sentiments place me in a distinct minority of Realtors, but here goes:

If scrumptious refreshments on Broker Tour** actually sold homes, then that nice Contemporary by Cedar Lake should have sold in a heartbeat.

Proffered to visiting agents:  home-cooked shish-kebab (delicious!), flutes of champagne, and chocolate mousse for dessert.

Instead, the listing sat for four months, expired, and recently came back on the market with another agent ” for $100k less (it’s still on the market).

Moral of the story: tasty food can fill up an open house.

Good marketing ” and the right price ” sells it.

**As opposed to weekend open houses ” what I call the “retail” tour ” the “wholesale” tour for Realtors only, at least in the Twin Cities, is held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m every Tuesday, and is a weekly highlight for busy agents.

Most Brokers’ weekly meetings (including Edina Realty — City Lakes’) immediately precede it.
