Good Thing No One Saw It.  Not.

My take on the meth disclosure on the standard Minnesota Seller Disclosure is the same as my view of accused murderers on the witness stand:  if you’re methpotentially capable of murder, you’re certainly capable of (and motivated to) lie about it under oath.

In the same vein, someone who has no compunction about using their home as a meth lab likely isn’t going to ‘fess to it on their Seller’s Disclosure.

Which no doubt explains why I’ve never seen that box checked in 14+ years in real estate.

Seller:  “Why Aren’t I Getting Any Showings?!?”

But, I did just hear about a Twin Cities listing — above $1 million, no less — where the Seller did check the meth disclosure box.

The explanation?

It was a mistake, brought to the attention of the horrified Seller (and likely even more horrified listing agent) by a friendly Edina agent after they saw it on MLS and inquired (note:  the Seller unwisely chose to list with “the competition”).
