What’s THAT About??

If you were to actually follow the “Open House” signs placed on street corners and key intersections (very) early Sunday morning, I very much doubt that you’d find a friendly Realtor standing in the front doorway, greeting visitors.

Sunday_OpenPrime time for Sunday open’s isn’t till much later, typically starting after 12 noon.

Whetting Buyers’ Appetite?

Rather, what you are invariably witnessing is an “eager beaver” Realtor doing a little free neighborhood marketing, several hours in advance of their open house later that day.

The clincher?

The Realtor’s signs are still there after dark — or the next day!

New Signs:  $40 apiece

While some Realtors obviously do it, I personally frown on the practice, because it’s . . . tacky.

Two other reasons:  1) I don’t want people to think I forgot about my signs; and 2) I don’t like my signs knocked over (which tends to happen when you leave them in one place too long) — or simply taken (note to non-Realtors:  they ain’t cheap).
