Lazy Realtor Marketing, or
Thanks for Nothing”

Question:  what do you call an unhosted home on the Broker Tour (in the Twin Cities, held every Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.)?

Answer:  a listed home for sale — no different than any of the other 15,000 or so properties currently for sale in the Twin Cities.

Define, “On Tour”

The whole point of having something on tour is to raise the home’s exposure, and attract other agents — presumably, to come take a look.

Listing agents need not offer seven course meals, but the (usual) expectation is that they’ll at least be there — and presumably have all the lights on, be available to field questions, etc.

Simply telling agents that the home is for sale and that they can let themselves in using the electronic lockbox adds . . . practically nothing.

The only difference between previewing a property and seeing an “unhosted” home on tour is that the former requires submitting an online request and getting a confirmation — something that usually just takes a few minutes.
