Tuning Out (and In)

It’s purely anecdotal (vs. scientific), but here’s one way to tell if a new listing is going to be a hit:  when the listing agent (representing the Seller) plugs it at the weekly Broker’s meeting . . . all the other agents suddenly get quiet.

doglisten3Normally, agents listen selectively (myself excluded — I always give everyone my undivided attention 🙂 ).

That is, agents “tune in” other Realtors’ pitches if they happen to have a client for that type of property or price range — and tune out if they don’t.

However, when something sounds like it’s truly going to be special, everyone’s ears perk up.

P.S.:  Just to combat the “tune out” factor, when I have new listings to plug, I try to go first.
