What’s Behind It?

The Edina Realty – City Lakes front desk is reporting a bump in walk-in traffic the last few weeks.

A “walk-in” is exactly that:  someone who walks in off the street and needs a Realtor to help them buy or sell a house — preferably both.

If it were a bit later into the Spring housing market, I’d ascribe it to quickening activity.

There’s some of that, but I suspect it has at least as much to do with Realtor attrition.  

A couple years ago, when everyone and their brother was selling homes . . . you didn’t have to go very far to find a Realtor.

Today, with something like 30% fewer Realtors, you might actually have to venture into a real estate office to find a good one.
