Arranging Local Office Privileges Out-of-Town, or, “The Goldilocks Solution”

If you’re a busy agent (I am) who has multiple social obligations (I do), it can be important, if/when you travel, to line up office privileges at a sister broker.

er_berk_stacked_thumbHeaded to the Bay Area for 48 hours this weekend, I spoke with Irene Wright in Edina Realty’s Relocation department to find a local office where I could drop in, if necessary.

Here’s a recap of our conversation:

Me:  “Does Edina Realty have an affiliate near Palo Alto?”
Irene:  “We have a sister company in Cupertino.”
Me:  “Too far south.”
Irene:  “How about San Ramon?”
Me:  “Too far Northeast.”
Irene:  “Hold on while I check . . . How about Alain Pinel Realtors on University Ave. in Palo Alto?”
Me:  “Perfect!”

Elapsed time:  less than 2 minutes.

Thanks, Irene!

P.S.:  The ability to drop in at any of Edina Realty’s two dozen-plus Twin Cities offices when I’m out and about is even more valuable.
