“Pour me somethin’ tall an’ strong
Make it a “Hurricane” before I go insane
It’s only half-past twelve but I don’t care
It’s five o’clock somewhere.”

–Lyrics, “It’s Five O’clock Somewhere”; performed by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett

What’s the work equivalent of the Jackson/Buffett song?

If you’re a busy agent with clients in multiple time zones, it’s always a good time to call someone.

6:30 a.m. Pacific vs. 9:30 a.m. Eastern

So, for example, at my desk at 8:30 a.m. Central this morning, I’d never think of calling a West Coast client, who’s two hours behind (in fact, I’d hesitate to call a West Coast client at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time).

Fortunately, 9:30 a.m. is the perfect time to reach to reach clients on the East Coast, an hour ahead . . . 🙂

P.S.: For agents who actually want occasional down time, this can be a double-edged sword, as you might imagine.
