Seller Dilemma:  List This Fall, or Wait Till Next Spring

Beggars Home Buyers in Seller’s markets can’t be choosers.”

–Proverb (slightly altered).

One of the discussions agents are having with their clients, post-Labor Day, is whether to put their home on the market this Fall, or wait till next Spring.

Arguing in favor of the former:  record-low inventory of homes for sale — in the Twin Cities, as well as many other markets nationally.

Dearth of Inventory (Still)

For Sellers, that translates into less competition and — one would logically presume — frustrated Buyers who may be willing to relax their standards just a bit.

In turn, that can mean skipping extensive updating, staging to the nines, and other home prep that can devour Sellers’ time and budget.

P.S.:  Amazingly, “Wait Til Next Year” is not the refrain of the best-in-baseball (so far) 2016 Chicago Cubs.
