“The Democratic Party was once a big brass band marching through the streets”loud, dissonant, there. “I’m not a member of any organized party,” Will Rogers famously said. “I’m a Democrat.” For generations Democrats repeated that line as a brag. They knew disorganized meant vital, creative, spontaneous, passionate”alive.”

Funny, I’ve been reading Peggy Noonan’s columns for years, and I don’t ever recall her professing admiration — at least at the time — for the primarychaotic, “vital” Democratic party of old that she now wistfully laments.

Maybe it’s a belated sense of nostalgia.

But, I suspect her current Op-Ed piece decrying the Democrats’ comparatively sedate primary process this election cycle is more about her trying to make political lemonade out of (Republican) lemons.

Tailoring the Offense to the Quarterback

In football, NFL coaches design their offense differently depending on whether their quarterback is an aging Peyton Manning or a youthful (and mobile) Russell Wilson.

Major political parties are no different.

Were the tactical shoe on the other foot, I have 0% doubt the Republicans would do exactly the same (and have).

P.S.:  Want to see a real political brawl?

If Hillary is the Democratic nominee and loses in the general election, it’ll be the Democratic primary season before the 2020 election.
