Hell

What do you do if you’re the owner of popular downtown Minneapolis eatery “Hell’s Kitchen,” and need a name for the adjacent bakery/coffee bar you’re opening next door?

Hold a naming contest on Facebook.

The winner?

“Angel Food” (naturally).

“Damn Good Food”

Hell’s Kitchen milks the “devil” theme for everything it’s worth, starting with the ubiquitous red decor and basement location (nice marketing spin on what would otherwise be a negative).

In front, the signs read, “Damn Good Food” and “The Road to Hell is Paved With Good Intentions.”

Featured menu item this weekend:  The “Juicy Lucifer” hamburger (upper left of top photo), a play on the “Juicy Lucy” served at local favorite Matt’s in South Minneapolis.
