python

Life Preserver?  Noodle?*  Neither

That’s not a yellow life-preserver about to go around the neck (and wind pipe) of my 12 year-old son.

On the contrary.

That’s a 10-foot long, 45 pound python.

It was just one of 60 or so snakes — and dozens of exotic/tropical animals — on display at McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary in South Florida.

My son and I were nearby visiting my in-laws for a brief getaway earlier this month (to my chagrin, starting with the day that it was 70° degrees locally).

P.S.: I skipped my turn to hold the snake.

*If you don’t know what a swimming pool “noodle” is, you don’t have young kids (or grandkids).
