Putting the Squeeze on Realtor Commissions??
Realtors track the housing market all sorts of ways.
In my case, that includes monitoring the activity of my own listings; reading widely, both housing-related material and not; noting what I observe showing homes
to my Buyer clients; and listening to what’s being discussed at the various Realtor meetings I attend weekly.
But, as a (very) active blogger, I’ve got one more avenue open to me that most Realtors don’t: knowing which posts are trending up at any given moment.
Most Popular Posts
In that vein . . . the two most popular posts on this blog recently are: 1) “Realtor April’s Fool’s Jokes” (no surprise); and 2) “Will You Cut Your Commission? Top 10 Replies.”
I find that 2nd post especially interesting, given that it originally appeared more than 18 months ago.
What’s going on?
Here are a couple guesses:
–Buyer and Sellers are looking to their Realtors to bridge deal impasses;
–Flummoxed Realtors who are on the receiving end of such requests want ideas on how to respond (or just want to vent);
–More deals are getting bogged down these days, with Buyers and Sellers unable to surmount one or more sticking points.
Most likely scenario?
All of the above.
P.S.: This blog’s “Top 10” all-time posts — spanning more than seven years and 1.2 million(!) online words — are in the upper right corner of the home page.
Sitcom Realtor Phil Dunphy (played by Ty Burrell) figures in several of them.
