If You Can’t . . . a Queen Bed Won’t Fit, Either
Q: “How do you double your money?”
A: “Fold it in half.”
When Buyers pose the “will it fit?” question, they’re often really asking two questions: 1) will a King-sized bed be too crowded in 
the (smallish) bedroom?; and 2) can they physically get a King-sized bed in the room — especially if it’s located in an expansion Bedroom at the top of a tight staircase.
Question #1 really depends on someone’s subjective sense of how crowded is too crowded.*
However, Question #2 is easier: a king bed will actually fit through smaller openings than a queen.
That’s because a king typically consists of two, twin-sized box springs, and a king mattress than can be folded in half (take it from a former furniture mover 🙂 ).
*I’m sure there are exceptions, based on ceiling height, windows, and the location of the entry and closet doors.
But, in general I wouldn’t put a king bed in a room much smaller than 14′ x 12.’
