Dumpsters and Road Construction

As a Realtor who spends a fair amount of time in and around Edina, I’ve got to say that I’ve never seen as much in-process road construction/repair in that city as I’m seeing right now.

Annoying, right?

Absolutely, if you’re running late and the street you’re on is backed up.

It’s also irksome when you find that you’ve been delayed for no reason — that is, long stretches of road are closed off with traffic cones, yet there’s not one construction worker to be seen for miles.

“Ghost Projects?” Not in Edina

But I associate that latter phenomenon with federal highways, not Edina.

In Edina, the work always seems to proceed apace, and the construction sites busy.

In that respect, I equate road repairs with dumpsters in front of single family homes:  temporary eye sores and inconveniences in the cause of preserving/creating long-term value.
