No One Hurt, (Almost) Nothing Damaged

The owner of the home at Sunset Blvd. and Inglewood in Fern Hill (less than one-half block from Edina Realty – City Lakes) lucked out on three counts this morning:  1) the storm and high winds that toppled their tree dropped it away from the house; 2) the tree landed on the boulevard and street, where it’s the city’s responsibility; and 3) the tree fell short of the neighbor’s house across the street — no damage (at least, that I could see).

Even more fortunate:  the tree didn’t fall on anyone!

Once it’s cut up and removed, the only other clean-up I see is repairing the heaved sidewalk (right side of photo, above) — also the city’s responsibility, most likely (at least to fix; the homeowner might ultimately get the bill).

P.S.:  There’s not much mystery about the direction the storm came from:  the tree fell due east, indicating the storm arrived from the west.
