Lights out at the White House.

Double Triple Entendre’

I prefer the caption, “NO1Home,” to the more descriptive, “No One Home,” because of the former’s manifold meanings.

I count at least three:

One. The White House is the #1 Home or residence — in the U.S., if not the world. Having the lights out, literally, at the White House is an ominous sign to all engaged, concerned Americans (dare I say, “patriots??“).

Two. The President is the country’s leader, or “Number One.” He was home, inside the White House, when protesters assembled in Lafayette Park across the street.**

Three. Unfortunately for the country in the midst of an historic crisis, instead of having a leader who can unite and inspire and help safeguard all Americans . . . we have a glaring vacuum — moral, spiritual, logistical, and otherwise.

**According to multiple press reports, Trump was actually in the secure bunker deep underneath the White House for at least part of the evening. Trump claims he was there briefly, “doing an inspection.”
