Elevator Pitches for Realtors

“A Recession is when your neighbor loses their job. A Depression is when you lose yours.”

Yeah, Yeah, when acquaintances ask, “How’s the market?,” they usually mean the overall market — not, how I’m doing personally.

Still, it’s hard not to let your personal circumstances color your take on things generally.

“Boom” and “Bust” Defined

For the record, then, my definition of a horrible market is when I have no closings scheduled the next 4-6 weeks, and am working with less than half a dozen clients.

A boom?

More than five closings coming up, and more than a dozen active clients (thankfully, right now things are at a very comfortable mid-point).

Who Wants to Know?

So, what’s the answer to, “how’s the overall housing market doing?”

Truly, it depends: on whether you’re a Buyer or Seller, upsizing or downsizing, your price point, geographic market, etc.

Just as “it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere,” every market has its winners and losers.
