Post-Showing Solutions Headaches

Two weeks in, it’s apparent that there are a number of “hiccups” associated with the transition to a new software vendor for handling MLS showings.

emailTo pick just one example:  Buyers’ agents are now being bombarded with twice as many feedback forms as before:  one from the new software vendor, and another from the listing agent’s Broker (representing the Seller).

Combine that with the auto-mailing feature embedded in each system — agents get endless reminders to complete feedback forms once they’ve done a showing — and the result is easily dozens of emails to busy Buyers’ agents daily demanding a response.

Dual (and Dueling) Systems

What makes it especially annoying for agents is that even after they’ve completed one feedback form, the other system is clueless, and continues the email onslaught.

It turns out that the solution is for listing agents to manually turn off one or the other showing feedback programs.

Thanks to a company-wide Edina Realty email explaining how, I did just that over the weekend.

But, it was hardly simple or obvious (at least to me).

Judging by the torrent of emails I’m still receiving asking for showing feedback, the majority of listing agents have yet to do likewise.
