“Department of Homeland American Security”
Here’s a modest, bi-partisan proposal for the newly selected 114th Congress — one that both Democrats and Republicans should be able to agree on: ditch all references to “Homeland” security, as in “U.S. Department of Homeland Security.”
That term is way too evocative of musty, old Europe — in particular, Germany and its (in)famous “Fatherland” (but note that it’s “Mother Russia”).
“American” or “U.S. soil” is sufficiently precious to be called by that name.
So, how about “Department of American Security?” Or just, “American Security.”
