Pedestrian Accident Aftermath
Heading east near Lake Calhoun last Wednesday evening, I was sure that I was witnessing the aftermath of a high-speed chase, or perhaps a robbery: squad cars everywhere, acres of yellow police tape cordoning off side streets, traffic backed up in every direction for blocks.
It turns out that what had just happened was that a truck leaving Calhoun Village turned right (heading west) on Lake Street, and struck a 25 year-old woman in the cross walk.
The woman died the next day.
For people with young children who live in the neighborhood (“check” on both counts) — who’ve navigated that intersection hundreds of times — the news hit very close to home.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the woman’s friends and family . . .
