The “It Went Away on Its Own” Cure

Patient:  ‘It hurts when I move my arm like this’ (motions with arm).
Doctor:  ‘Don’t do that.’

–Woody Allen, dialogue from Annie Hall(?)

As a practice, I don’t recommend ignoring either bodily aches and pains or incipient house issues; both have a way of getting worse with neglect.

However, just every once in awhile, you catch a break, and the issue (or bodily complaint) disappears on its own, with no further action required.

So, that knocking sound in my home plumbing ten days ago or so seems to have disappeared on its own, without our doing anything.

In other words, it departed as inexplicably as it arrived.

Now, if my lower back just cooperated . . .

P.S.:  My body and the home I’ve lived in for the last eight years have something in common:  both date to 1959(!).

“No comment” re:  remodeling since.
