Realtor Double Standards

“Have you ever noticed that their stuff is shit and your shit is stuff?”

–George Carlin

Whether a home is a dump or a castle can depend on who the agent is, and their relationship to the property.

So, I’m aware of a few Twin Cities agents who are rather infamous for finding fault with other agents’ listings, no matter how impeccably staged and marketed (and regardless of whether they have a prospective Buyer).

Meanwhile, their own listings are invariably marketed as flawless gems, no matter how much a stretch that may be.

To some extent, all agents do that — that’s their (our) job.

It’s just a question of degree.

Which is just one more reason why veteran agents know to take Realtor feedback with (a lot) more than a grain of salt.
