Cure Worse Than the Disease?, or,
Attached at the Right (Left) Hip

I first wrote about “phantom cellphone vibration” — the sensation that your cellphone is ringing when you’re standing in the shower, naked — almost 2 1/2 years ago.  See, “Where’s the Rest of Me?  The Phantom Cellphone Vibration.”

As my, uhhh .  . . condition has grown more acute since then, my efforts to find a remedy have stepped up accordingly.

The best solution, of course, is to simply take off your cell phone — ideally for an extended period of time.

Or to wear it, but simply turn it off (no “vibrate” mode).

Discombobulated (But No More Vibration)

When neither of those things is possible, what’s the next best solution?

Switching hips (duh!).

So, what’s the catch?

As I (finally!) discovered this morning, the solution works so well that I literally turned my home office upside down looking for my “errant” iPhone before I realized that I’d attached it to my left hip instead of my right!
