Master of My Own Domain
“I am so very happy to read your blog. I really enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing your idea. Keep up the good work.”
–Bob at www.Miami_Condos_Cheap.com
For any Seinfeld fans reading this blog, I don’t mean that the way they meant it.
I mean, I’m literally the master of my own domain, RossKaplan.com, and get to decide what does — and doesn’t — appear.
Call it “blog housekeeping.”
“Yeah, That’ll Work” Department
In the latter category would be the dozens (hundreds?) of b.s. blog comments I routinely intercept (see above), courtesy of this blog’s filtering software.
The usual formula: some bland compliment or observation that may or may not relate to the preceding post, and may or may not have fractured syntax, followed by a link to a shamelessly self-promoting URL (I embellished a little — not a lot — on the one above).
As far as genuine blog comments go, as long as they’re not expletive-filled and articulate a real viewpoint — the more, the better!
P.S.: Long-time readers of this blog know that I switched software platforms about a year ago, and kept the original blog online — which lacked filtering software — while readers discovered the new one.
I was finally forced to pull the blog on the old one about a month ago when it got “bombed” overnight by someone who simultaneously posted several hundred comments from somewhere in Asia.
Nice . . .
