Channeling Wayne Gretzky, or
“Zen & the Art of Real Estate Sales”

It’s hardly a coincidence that just-named Minnesota Realtor of the Year (and Edina Realty City Lakes colleague) Budd Batterson espouses a philosophy remarkably like that of former hockey great Wayne Gretzky.

See if you recognize the similarity between the following:

“I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.”

–Wayne Gretzky

And this from Budd’s acceptance speech:

“Those that are successful [in real estate] move with the ball – seeing where the market is going, understanding the trajectory of the transaction, their buyer’s path, their seller’s path, and they make that path their own.”

Substitute “hockey puck” for “ball,” and the overlap is uncanny!

P.S.:  And while there are some vintage pictures of Budd in his rock ‘n roll band, that would be Wayne Gretzky (“The Great One”) pictured above.
