Is the Realtor “Just Blowing Smoke?”

When people come through my Sunday open houses and express interest, I ask for their contact information and (attempt to) stay in touch.

I’ll also call to give them a heads up if/when an offer is coming in.

Invariably, I never hear back.

Which leads to one (or more) of the following conclusions:  1) they weren’t that interested, after all (my guess about 90% of the time); 2) they assume that I’m making up the part about an offer to get them to do something; or 3) they believe me, but don’t want to compete for the house.

Oh, well . . .

P.S.:  While some promised offers never materialize, as a practice, I never make that up.  See, “Is it REALLY in Multiples?  How to Tell.”
