The Best Kind of Marketing?  The Free Kind

Saturdays in early August are not an especially busy time for Realtor open houses.

The exception?

Anything for sale in the vicinity of Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood, host this weekend to the annual Art Fair.

I counted at least six open houses in just the 2-3 block stretch I walked; you’d guess another dozen or so were scattered through the general area.

That compares with perhaps 4-5 on a typical August Saturday.

P.S.:  Best vendor?

My candidate would be “Art that Makes You Laugh,”  a collection of 30-40 whimsical portraits in the spirit of Gary Larson’s “Far Side” cartoons.

The one below is titled, “Counsel Approaching the Bench.”
