No Joke — & No Escape for Drivers on West Side of Town
Unfortunately, it’s May 12, not April 1 — and the headline above is only a slight exaggeration.
Thanks to two lanes (out of four) being closed in both directions, traffic on Highway 100 in St. Louis Park is now a snarled, 24/7 nightmare (maybe just “18/7” — I’m guessing there’s no traffic from midnight to 6 a.m.).
Combined with adjacent road and on-ramp closures — like Cedar Lake Parkway a mile east of 100 — congestion (and driver frustration) in the area is running at epic levels.
The latest side effect: south-bound traffic on France Ave. now backs up from Lake Street almost one mile(!) to 394 during rush hour.
