I sure hope it’s the former, because I’m constantly looking up new words (albeit online these days).
“Conflated” Events
Thanks to Brian Williams, I (and millions of other people) now know what “conflate” means.
New word #2: “elide,” as to omit or blend together.
My theory about why “elide” seems to be popping up so frequently now: the 2016 Presidential campaign is officially under way — along with all the artful (and sometimes inartful) propaganda, spin, etc. that goes with.
