“Wasn’t That House Interesting!” — Compliment or Dis?
At least outside of Minnesota, “interesting” actually can mean . . . “interesting.”
As in, “unique” (in a good way), “provocative,” or “stimulating.”
By contrast, when Minnesotans say it ” especially in the context of house-hunting, and they enunciate the word slowing (“i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g”) ” they invariably mean “unique” (in a bad way), “peculiar,” or “unusual” (also in a bad way).
Buyers’ agents who don’t want to waste their time are adept at making the distinction . . .
