Just Don’t Call it “Calhoun Lake”

Inspired by Saturday Night Live’s “Dermot Mulroney or Dylan McDermott?” bit, herewith are the most vexing real estate pairings in the Twin Cities, IMHO:

1. Maple Grove vs. Maplewood vs. Maple Plain.
2. St. Anthony Park vs. St. Anthony Village.
3. Forest Lake vs. Lake Forest.
4. Windom Park (neighborhood in northeast corner of Minneapolis) vs. Windom (south side Minneapolis neighborhood).

Which Windom Was That?**

Even pros like myself can occasionally mix signpostup one (or more) of the above (mild dyslexia doesn’t help).

Just don’t get caught saying “Minnetonka Lake” or “Calhoun Lake,” as I’ve seen a few (very) green Realtors do.

P.S.:  I finally found a way to keep Minneapolis’ adjacent Portland and Park Avenues straight:  Portland runs west (as in the Oregon city); Park runs east, as in Manhattan’s Park Ave.

**There’s also a (small) city named Windom, in the Southwest corner of Minnesota.
