April (Snow)Showers Bring . . .??

I think — I hope — I just measured my last home foundation in the snow this season.

Make that, snow flurries.

After a blissful stretch of 60’s, Twin Cities temps today are in the high 30’s, with wind and sleet to boot.

At least, there’s no more snow and ice on the ground.

Career Highlights & Lowlights

While I’ve had many career highlights, one of the low points was measuring the foundation of a Fern Hill Colonial years ago in January.

In below zero temps, with a wind chill much lower than that, while running a low-grade fever.

The lowpoint (literally):  while working my way around the outside of the house, I fell into a snow-covered window well, and broke my fall snapping off a piece of custom window molding no one made anymore (a local contractor ultimately fabricated a replacement).
