Dilemma:  To Get on the Plane Home — Or Not

While the East Coast is dealing with blizzard conditions, the Twin Cities is bracing for the coldest temps since . . . I literally can’t remember.

The worst of the cold — forecast for Sunday-Monday — calls for a high temperature of -17 degrees during that period.

Which is exactly when lots of Minnesotans who got away for winter break are supposed to be returning.

Or not.

On the plus side, kids who are tired of hearing their parents say Minnesota doesn’t have “real” winters anymore, like when they were growing up . . . can expect to hear that a lot less.

P.S.:  the peak period for U-Haul rentals leaving Minnesota isn’t the depths of winter, when you might expect.

Rather, it’s March-April, when things have warmed considerably — just not enough — and people capitulate (my theory).
