New Home Trends 2013

wine cellar2I don’t know about you, but my association with basement wine cellars is vaguely creepy:  dark, dungeon-like rooms in tucked-away corners that may (or may not) be shrouded in cobwebs.

So, the see-through wine cellar (right) in this new Linden Hills home certainly caught my attention.

Just one caveat:  I thought sunlight was the enemy of proper aging.

Wine purists??

P.S.:  As I’ve noted before, the best way to divine home trends is to see what’s turning up in upper bracket new construction.

Those are the folks who seem to have a, umm . . . taste for the latest bells & whistles — and the budget to afford them. 🙂
