“Crying Wolf,” Updated

High-tech, 21st century urban dwellers don’t encounter many wolves these days.

But that doesn’t mean the expression, “crying wolf,” has gone away.

wolfThe phrase comes to mind dealing with an especially insistent opposing (and I mean, “opposing”) Realtor on a recent deal.

I was responsive the first time he appended “get back to me ASAP” to an email.

I noted it the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th times.

Thereafter, I pretty much tuned out the “ASAP’s,” “I need it now’s”, etc. , and switched to responding by the end of the day.

And no, notwithstanding the other agent’s tone, none of the communications were emergencies.

P.S.:  My clients know that I am extremely responsive working with them, and, if I can’t take a “live” phone call because I’m in a meeting, showing homes, etc, get back very quickly.
