New Acronyms & Conformist Fruit

My favorite place to get a sub sandwich in college was TOGO’s — short for “To Go.”

Somehow, “BOGO” — “Buy one, get one free” — just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Nevertheless, that’s the new term plastered all over the Byerly’s weekly coupon circular.

Time will tell if it catches on.

And truth be told, I’ve been wrong before:  who would have guessed that “Groupon” (“Group coupon”) would become a household name?

P.S.:  The grapefruit may be conventional, but the bananas are wild and crazy:  every time I walk through a Whole Foods and see “conventional” plastered everywhere, I think to myself, “who knew fruit could be conformist (or not)?”
