Total Fin SqFt:

1,000

Suffice to say that I was dubious when I saw the above stat’s on a new MLS listing this morning.

It’s not often that a house actually measures to such a round number, and that the foundation size, above ground square feet, and total finished square feet are all the same.

So, I jumped to the home’s Hennepin County property tax record to double-check.

Sure enough, it listed all of the above at exactly “1,000” — plus one more:  the basement is also listed at 1,0000 square feet.

P.S.:  Supposedly, when Sir Edmund Hillary’s expedition measured Mount Everest, they recorded its height at exactly 29,000 feet.  However, thinking that the people who keep track of such things (cartographers?) would assume they rounded, they recorded it as 29,006 feet.
