Neighborhood Shortcuts

Every Realtor has their favorite stock questions to ask homeowners so as to best market their home.

My list includes:

–“What do you like best about living in this neighborhood?”

–“How many kids are nearby, and which school(s) do they go to?”

–“Where do you go for groceries?”

In addition to the above, though, I always ask the fastest way to get places.

Inevitably, I discover some short cuts that never would have occurred to me (or Mapquest).

Just two examples:

–the best way to get from Whittier (in South Minneapolis) to the west side of town is to go north, through Loring Park, then pick up 394 by the Walker (avoids the Lyndale – Franklin bottleneck).

–the fastest way to get to downtown Minneapolis from northwest Plymouth is to go east, to Highway 100, then south to 394 (vs. south on congested 169 and then east on 394).
