Labor Day 2015I’ve got to assume I’m not the only one thrown by this year’s (very) late Labor Day, September 7.

It certainly feels like it should be this weekend.

Proposal

We tweak the start and end of daylight savings time all the time.

Why not change Labor Day from the current, “first Monday in September” to, “the Monday closest to Aug. 31 – Sept. 1?”

Since Aug. 31 falls on a Monday this year, using the above definition, Labor Day weekend 2015 would instead be . . this weekend.
