Want a sure sign that the Twin Cities’ “Nice Ride” bike program is a hit?

Bike stands like the one above (at the southeast corner of 26th & Lyndale, in Minneapolis’ Wedge neighborhood) that are plumb out of bikes.

To be sure, yesterday was a beautiful, weekend day, with sunny skies and (very) warm temps.

But contrast that with the very full bike stand I noted in Manhattan’s West Village (below) visiting the city a few weeks ago (note:  New York City’s counterpart to “Nice Ride” is called “Citibike,” sponsored by a certain Too-Big-to-Fail bank).
