Along with the housing market, remodeling is rebounding . . . with a twist.
Instead of getting their homes ready for sale, millions of baby boomers are retrofitting them to stay in place.
Rambler Revival
The trend is bringing back in vogue some housing styles not usually thought of as “trendy.”
Such as: staid, ’50’s ramblers (called “ranches” outside the Midwest), that lend themselves quite nicely to one-level living.
When staying in a single family home doesn’t make sense because of health or lifestyle issues (like travel) — or simply because of space needs (more like, lack thereof) — Baby Boomers today have their choice of more types of senior housing than ever.
