30 Slated for Edina

So, where is residential new construction in the Twin Cities booming?

Try . . . staid, mature — and now sizzling — Edina.

At the moment, the city has issued 30 permits to tear down existing housing and construct new.

Land and building costs being what they are, you’d estimate that translates into at least $30 million in new homes in the pipeline.

Popular neighborhoods for such activity:  South Harriet Park (just southwest of 50th and France near the Minnehaha Creek); and the city’s Morningside neighborhood.

The common denominator?

Each of those neighborhoods is east of Highway 100, in close-in “city” (vs. suburban) settings.
