Hotter Than Hades Phoenix This Weekend in the Twin Cities
OK, so the mercury in Minneapolis later today is forecast to “only” reach 102º, vs. 104° in Phoenix.
However, once you factor in the relative humidity — 50% locally vs. around 10% in Phoenix — the Twin Cities will actually feel several degrees warmer.
Giving Phoenicians (“Scottsdalians??”) the opportunity to point out, “Yeah, but it’s a dry heat . . .”**
**In the winter, Minnesotans acknowledge the bitter temps, but typically append the (weak) qualifier, “But, it’s a dry cold” (vs. wet).
P.S.: What do you get if you combine the climates in Minneapolis and Phoenix and divide by two?
Answer: “Palo Alto” (credit also given for “San Diego”).
