Pots, Black Kettles, and Transparency in Government

Lots of commentators (myself included) have called on Donald Trump to release his tax returns.  See“Hey, Russia!  Hack This!

black potBut, you’d certainly think The New York Times could have found a better proponent for the argument than disgraced former South Carolina Governor — and now Congressman — Mark Sanford.

As you may (or may not) recall, then-Governor Sanford disappeared for six days in 2008 to visit his mistress in Argentina.

His alibi at the time — quickly debunked — was that he was “hiking the Appalachian Trail.”
